12 Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every hindrance and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, (Hebrews 12:1 CSB)

Anyone who has run a race or fought a fight knows the need for endurance. Life is no different, in fact it is moreso like these things in that we need endurance to finish it strong.

Endurance is one of those things that gets sapped by the smallest thing. Any chink in our training or in our preparation can cause us to falter. The least little thing can create a hindrance.

Thus we must keep our focus upon the goal, which is not success nor comfort though we think that these things must be part. No, endurance means bearing up under hardship and not being ensnared by that which might make our focus dim in any way.

Make no mistake both life and faith is an endurance test.
