6 But I am a worm and not a man,
scorned by mankind and despised by people.
7 Everyone who sees me mocks me;
they sneer[a] and shake their heads:
8 “He relies on[b] the Lord;
let him save him;
let the Lord[c] rescue him,
since he takes pleasure in him.” (Psalm 22:6-8 CSB)
On this Good Friday today’s scripture spoke deeply to me as I was doing my morning reading. So often I feel the first verse, a worm and not a man.
I have had others shake their heads and tell me religion is nothing but a crutch.
But through it all I DO rely upon the Lord. He HAS rescued me and saved me. I DO talk pleasure in Him!
As such, no matter how lowly I may feel, no matter how scorned I might be, I delight in the Lord.
Today, if we take a moment to look at the beginning of these critical three days in Christ life, we can know he began today for all of man kind.
Even a worm such as I.
