Godly Sorrow

11 For consider how much diligence this very thing—*this Godly sorrow*—has produced in you: what a desire to clear yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what deep longing, what zeal, what justice! In every way you showed yourselves to be pure in this matter. (1 Corinthians 7:11 CSB)

Typically we do not get to experience a good form of sorrow. However, in this passage we see that there can be goo from “Godly sorrow”.

A Godly sorrow can produce change within us that we can look forward to. It can turn us from the negative aspects of our past and change us for the better. Thus, when we have a Godly sorrow we experience two emotions; sorrow over what we have been doing, and gladness that we have the opportunity to change.

God provides us a positive outcome to our grieving.
