Missing the Forest

25 He answered, “Whether or not he’s a sinner, I don’t know. One thing I do know: I was blind, and now I can see!” (John 9:25 CSB)

In our passage today a blind man is being questioned by the authorities about why Jesus healed him on the Sabbath. This was considered work and strictly forbidden, thus, they were trying to ostracize Jesus as a sinner.

I like the mans response which is in essence; Regardless of what he might or might not be, the one thing I know is that I was blind, and now I can see!

The extensible truth here is that the leaders were still too blind to see the miracle before them and accept Jesus for who he actually was.

Do we, at times, miss the extensible truth because we are too blind to see? Are we missing the forest for the trees?
