Laboring Earnestly

12 Epaphras, who is one of your number, a bondslave of Jesus Christ, sends you his greetings, always laboring earnestly for you in his prayers, that you may stand perfect and fully assured in all the will of God. (Colossians 4:12 CSB)

There are many things we should labor in earnestly. Having a strong work ethic tends to make us earnest laborers. Having a strong sense of family tends to make us labor earnestly for our families. A deep life of faith will see us laboring earnestly in our prayer life for ourselves and, just as often, others.

Epaphras, in our scripture, was one who could have been called a prayer warrior. He labored earnestly in his prayers so that others might stand strong in God and in their faith.

I have had the privilege of knowing people like Epaphras. People who labored continually in prayer for others. Many of these being infirmed and unable to do much for themselves but earnestly prayed for others.

This was their ministry.
