Boy Sit Down

The Lord Speaks
38 Then the Lord answered Job from the whirlwind. He said:

2 Who is this who obscures my counsel
with ignorant words?
3 Get ready to answer me like a man;
when I question you, you will inform me. (Job 38:1-3 CSB)

You can bet that if these words are issued forth from a whirlwind it would get my attention.

Not only this, but God is calling Job to order “Get ready to answer me like a man” and Job without fail will answer “when I question you, you will inform me.”

When a father says “Boy, sit down and answer me honestly!”, we tend to do so. I know I did when I was a kid and I know my kids did when they were around.

We may be called to give an account at times in our lives. It is rarely a comfortable situation and my come with conquenses. But answering honestly is the best course of action. Moreso, when God creates circumstances that call us to account for our lives or behavior, we cannot “obscure His counsel with ignorant words.”

In other words, there are times we simply must make an accounting.
