23 He said, “I am a voice of one crying out in the wilderness: Make straight the way of the Lord[a]—just as Isaiah the prophet said.” (John 1:23 CSB)

To date I have written over 800 devotionals. Looking at our world I often feel like “a voice crying out in the wilderness”.

This scripture referred to John the Baptist who Isaiah prophsied about coming before Christ to point the way to Him. John who’s head was taken and became a martyr for Christ.

When we cry out in the wilderness it is often difficult, if not impossible, to see the benefit of what we do. Yet, we are driven on to do that which others may not clearly understand.

But if my words reach a single soul, then it will not have been in vain.
