Do you sometimes feel overshadowed?

I woke up early this morning and could not go back to sleep. I have had an overshadowing in the last month or so. It has caused me to be anxious and I have slept poorly. When I am awake my mind is in constant motion.

I think we all go through times like this. When life overshadows us and darkness decends. But I have to ask, are we listening for a voice from the cloud or are we just moving quickly, head down, umbrella up waiting for the storm to break?

Maybe what we (I) should be doing is listening for God’s voice in the darkness. Looking for that sliver of light breaking through the cloud and anticipating God’s plan in it all. Maybe it is a time to be silent, still and just listen.
