16 The reflections of the heart belong to mankind,
but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord.
2 All a person’s ways seem right to him,
but the Lord weighs motives.[a]
3 Commit your activities to the Lord,
and your plans will be established. (Proverbs 16:1-3 CSB)
The world perceives and see’s success differently than God does. God looks at our motives and determines if what we are working toward is what He planned for us to do or something that is a plan we established.
We tend to compartmentalize our life. We have our family life, our business life and our spiritual life. Yet, God does not make this distinction. He wants our motives in all areas of our lives to be driven in and through Christ. In and through the filter of His plan for our lives.
Commit your activities to the Lord and your plans will be established.
