4 When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water and let down your nets for a catch.” 5 “Master,” Simon replied, “we’ve worked hard all night long and caught nothing. But if you say so, I’ll let down the nets.” (Luke 5:4-5 CSB)
Let’s face it. Sometimes we do things grudgingly. We are tired from a long day when a friend calls with a need. Our children or spouse needs our attention and all we want to do is rest. God puts something in front of us and it is the last thing we want to tackle today.
But, maybe just maybe, God has a better plan. He wants us to trade our need for rest, our desire for self for something better.
God’s plans are higher and bigger than our plans. If we will but let down our nets.
