31 but those who trust in the Lord
will renew their strength;
they will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not become weary,
they will walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31 CSB)
If your world is anything like mine it seems constantly set to fast forward. Work comes at us at a break neck pace. We spend our days rushing from meeting to meeting then, typically, go home to sit down and actually do some work. And more than often that amounts to dealing with a mountain of email.
If you do not have a business (white collar) job, I am sure your job has its own rush, rush, rush, do more with less pace. That seems to be the way of the world now.
Maybe it is time to slow down a bit, to take a little more time. Not just for yourself but for others. Even in our work lives, often times slow is fast. We like to think we can multitask, but that is a fallacy. Doing something well takes time, and what I have found, that often a bit slower is actually faster.
So where do we turn to renew our strength to gain some perspective in hectic times? Christ is always there beside you as well to help you through the pace of your life. Slow down, take a moment to thank Him, and see if things feel more manageable.
