3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. 4 He comforts us in all our affliction,[a] so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any kind of affliction, through the comfort we ourselves receive from God. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4 CSB)
Have you ever just felt bone weary? This is a state different from being physically tired. It is a state where we feel mentally, spiritually and physically weary. A state that requires supreme effort to drag ourselves through our day.
This is a time when we need comfort. We need to know that there are those around us who we can draw strength from, who can help us through our day. A time when we need to plug into another source of energy.
Many turn to friends and look for them to be our batteries. But batteries drain. We have someone closer than a friend who has an endless supply of both comfort and energy. Someone who can not only lift us up from our bone weariness, but renew mind, spirit and body so that we mount up as on wings of eagles.
