11 Honest scales and balances belong to the Lord;
all the weights in the bag are of his making. (Proverbs 16:11 NIV)

At first glance this bit of scripture may simply look to be about honesty. However, there is a lot to gain from this scripture.

Honesty – yes, at its base this scripture teaches us about honesty.

Balance – further, it teaches about balance and how we cannot feel balance in our lives with out God. He is a God of balance.

All the Weights – God is showing us that all we are, all we own, all we do are his. The world and all that is in it is his and of his making and in his hand.

In the Bag – God is in control of everything in our bag. Everything that happens is in him and through him.

Of his Making – lastly, as noted everything is of his making. Our circumstances and our outcomes are in his hands and of his making. He is in complete control.
