2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. (Colossians 3:2 CSB)

Each day, each moment, we have a choice; set our minds on what is at our feet or what is in the heavens. We can look at our current situation and circumstances or we can look to God and to what lies ahead, far ahead. When we focus on things above our current situation tends to fade to the background. We look beyond our circumstances and to where God is taking us.

But to do this we must “set our mind”. We must make it a conscious effort to place our minds in the presence of God. Then and only then can we truly move our mindset off earthly things.
