Seeing

8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; though not seeing him now, you believe in him, and you rejoice with inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 because you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls. (1 Peter 1:8-9 CSB)

Yesterday we spoke about visibility, today about seeing. When I am motoring around on my bike I practice active seeing. So what is active seeing? Well, it is not just looking superficially at my surroundings but actively looking for dangers and, alternatively, ways out if danger appears. You put your head on a swivel if you want to enjoy healthy riding.

However, I always encounter unseen things. Things that pop up out of no where that I must react to in the blink of an eye. In our faith life much of our belief comes without seeing. This is why it is called faith. We must have faith in the scriptures and rejoice in our perception of the outcome to come.

We must see with eyes of faith.
