Sober-Minded

8 Be sober-minded, be alert. Your adversary the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour. (1 Peter 5:8 CSB)

Be sober-minded. This may seem an odd statement and it has nothing to do with drinking.

Our world a vast array of things for us to stuff into our minds. The internet is at our fingertips and media floods in from every side. We live at a hectic pace and rarely slow down. This is not conducive to a sober-mind.

When the mind is flooded with the world, the enemy’s playground, there is often little space for God. Thus, we must work to push out the clamor and be sober-minded, alert, with our focus on the good things that God brings. Not the temporary things of the world.
