Good Stewards

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? (Matthew 6:25 NIV)

The first of the year can become a tense time. We tend to be dealing with the aftermath of our Christmas spending and looking at the prospect of a new year, resolutions we made and responsibilities. It can be quite overwhelming.

But God did not mean us to worry about life. Yes, we must be respectful and wise about how we spend our time, talent and treasure. However, beyond this wise use of our resources, God meant us to live boldly. Knowing that he had us in his hands. Even when we may not be living up to our part of the bargain, God never leaves us.

Our part is to be good stewards and his part is to work on our behalf to our good.
