9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. (Luke 2:9 NIV)

Over the next three days leading up to and including Christmas I want to highlight not only reason for the season, but how life changes moment to moment.

Now I am a man of faith, but if an angel suddenly appeared to me in all its splendor, I would would be terrified. Things present in life that can immediately terrify us; sudden job loss, a bad medical problem, the loss of a loved one, the list could go on and on. Our first response is to gasp in terror at what is happening. For our minds to immediately go to all of the possible consequences and outcomes.

But our Lord and Father looks over us, especially during these suddenly fearful times. We call out and He hears us, we seek Him and He is there. Tomorrow we will see how quickly our terrified feelings can change.
