17 Instruct those who are rich in the present age not to be arrogant or to set their hope on the uncertainty of wealth, but on God,[a] who richly provides us with all things to enjoy. 18 Instruct them to do what is good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and willing to share, 19 storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of what is truly life. (1 Timothy 6:17-19 CSB)
Most of us are doing pretty well. We may not feel that we are rich but on a global scale we actually are quite wealthy.
God has words for us which we should take to heart. Wealth, often times, breeds arrogance. Yet, wealth is fleeting and we can quickly go from well off to nearly destitute based upon life circumstances.
Thus, we have a need to do good with our wealth, using it to help others, generous, kind and giving. This stores up riches which we cannot lose in the coming age. This is where we truly take hold of what is of real value in this life.
