Using The Might of God

4 For the weapons of our warfare are not [a]carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, (2 Corinthians 10:4-5 NKJV)

I know I have written on these two verses of scripture many times, but they warrant a constant review in a believers life. The breaking of strongholds is one of the most difficult things a believer can do. The enemy is very adept at creating them and we are not very good at breaking them. Truly, we cannot normally break a strongholds in our own strength. We need God to be the driving force in truly shattering them properly so that they do not set up again in our lives.

If you have or have had one of these strongholds in your life, you know how difficult it can be. There is a desire to stop sinning in a habitual way, but we simply do not seem to have the strength to do so. This is because we not only need God’s might to do so, but we also need His grace to keep us away from it. Just like any addiction, it becomes a place where we escape or it is an unconscious process that is ingrained in our life.

Reflect on: Strongholds that might exist in your life. Call upon God’s might to break them today. Do not continue to live with something you are too weak to destroy.
