Sometimes we just need to rely upon what the soul knows and not lean upon our own views which can be skewed by the world and the enemy. Getting down on ourselves can be one of the biggest aspects of depression we can experience. It is at these times where we need to turn inward and listen to our soul which has residence with the Spirit.

14 I will praise You, for ^[a]I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well. (Psalm 139:14 NKJV)

Our lives can be so severely impacted by the internal views we carry regarding ourselves. Whether that view regards our appearance, our success, our financial state, the enemy will continually cause negative thoughts. He will use the world to shape our views, instead of us listening to the Father’s love for us, His acceptance, we listen to the world. We filter our view through the lens of what others tell us is best, right and desirable.

We want to take a different view, one that is in line with how our Father sees us, which is fearfully and wonderfully made. Even when we may not be able to fully believe this, He wants us to seek His face first and listen to the Spirit’s prompting in our lives.

Reflect on: Just how the Father sees you and not how the world defines what it thinks is perfect.
