1 Truly my soul silently waits for God;
From Him comes my salvation. (Psalm 62:1 NKJV)
We do little today in silence. The world around us clamors for our attention. Our phones almost never leave our hands while we scroll our lives away with, typically, useless information. We find it hard to sit in silence for even brief periods of time.
Does this sound like your life? If not I would expect that it is not far off of the mark and maybe you are in a little bit of denial. Especially if you are generally a faith based person, we don’t want to think we follow the crowd and live differently. So maybe you are not a doom scroller, how much of your life and time does your job take up? We saturate our lives with something, it should be God, but for most of us it isn’t.
In other Palms it says “my soul thirst for God”. This too should epitomize just how much we desire God in every part of our lives. With Him so deeply imbedded we can weather any storm, but without life gets tiresome and burdensome.
Reflect on: Does your soul thirst for the silence only God can fill?
