36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”
37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 22:36-40 NKJV)
My hope is that you took time yesterday to observe Psalm Sunday specially, preparing for a the Holy Week leading up to Easter. I believe we need to walk into this week focused upon the life of Jesus, and that can only begin with how we are meant to love Him.
In fact there must be room in our lives to love God, love others and love ourselves. It is difficult for many because they do not know how to love themselves. They do not realize that when we love God first we find a love for ourselves because He first loved us. When we begin to understand the Fathers unconditional love we can begin to find a place to love ourselves. From this must flow the love of others.
Reflect on: How love works in your life. Does it flow from God’s love for you, or is there an obstruction you must first remove?
