Practicing the Presence

24 But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. (Acts 20:24 ESV)

How can we, like the Apostles, get to the point of counting our lives of no value, aside from our lives in Christ? That seems a tall order. To completely focus ourselves upon the only true lasting value of the gospel, our life of faith and reaching others. Many of us will never be in full time ministry. So how do we simple Christians reach this state.

We must practice the presence of Christ.

We must put everything in our lives through the filter of Christ. Other scripture tells us Christ is in all things and through all things. When we live our lives with this in mind and keep a vigilant eye toward Christ we can live a life founded in our faith. We take every thought captive and every act is done with a breathed prayer to see Christ in those actions. We need to look for Him in everyone around us as well, seeking to be there for them in their time of need.

Reflect on: Your life in Christ and how it is being lived out. Are you practicing the presence of Christ.
