As for God, His way is perfect;
The word of the Lord is proven;
He is a shield to all who trust in Him. (2 Samuel 22:31 NKJV)

I look at scripture through the eye of different translations. I like today’s verse in the New King James Version and its use and emphasis on the word is.

His way is perfect, is proven and is a shield to all who trust in Him.

What a great reassurance in the fact of all that God is, and does for us each and every day. He desires our trust in Him so that as He fulfills all of His promises for us we realize exactly where our reliance should reside.

Too often we believe our way is better than God’s perfect way and get turned around in life. This is when we must turn to scripture and to what God has already done for us which is proven. We can forget His proven way trying to make our own way. Then we find that our way has many flaws and we have inadvertently made life harder.

I can tell you that I have lived the above and the advantage of hindsight at this point leads me back to God’s path every time. He has proven over and over again His faithfulness in my life, which makes my trust grow ever stronger.

God is perfect, proven and a shield for all who trust in Him.
