Slow, but not

Dear friends, don’t overlook this one fact: With the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.The Lord does not delay his promise, as some understand delay, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance. (1 Peter 3:8-9 CSB)

Luckily, God does not rush. Also, God is not slow, at least not by His standard. It is only our perception of events and time that make outcomes seem to happen slowly.

Our perception of time is based on what is, relatively, a very short span of years. Even the most long lived of us rarely see 100. So, in the span of the worlds existence we are but a vapor, a wisp of smoke.

Additionally, time is a funny thing. There are periods where it seems to drag and pass slowly. Others where it seems to fly by. This can only really be put in perspective through the lens of hindsight. Those times did not pass slower or faster but we experienced them in that way none the less.

God waits patiently for as many as possible to come to His saving grace. He does not want a single one to perish and experience hell. Even though He knows many will. More and more today, the world and the enemy are dragging us away from God. There is so much bantered about that it can make belief hard. But there will come a time when everyone will realize the truth of it all….and then it will be too late.

Better to quickly come to this saving grace than to see time truly slow down in eternity on the wrong side of the equation.
