17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here! (2 Corinthians 5:!7 NIV)

Getting rid of the old and bringing in the new, typically sounds really good to us. We want to be rid of our old selves and make fundamental change.

But the old self continues to try to exude its influence over who we are trying to become.

We need to just remember to continually look toward the new self and slowly but surely the old self falls away.
