All Day Long

5 Guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are the God of my salvation;
I wait for you all day long. (Psalm 25:5 CSB)

Ever had one of those weeks that just seem to go on and on and on? I am having one of those. Yesterday seemed like it spanned two days. These are days and weeks when I have too many meetings and get little real work done during business hours and so my days stretch into the evenings.

I am not alone nor singular in this, I know. Work has slipped the boundaries of the work day, more I think since Covid. Working from home tends to mean that the day does not really have a fitting end. I have heard this from many and it is just how the enemy wants it. He loves to wear us out in one way or another.

Thus, we need to look to (wait on) the Lord all the more. In fact, all the day long. We need to wait on God and look to Him to be our comfort on long and difficult days, weeks, months and years. This not only grows our patience and our endurance it creates a longing for God that we need in our lives.

On these long days we need to take a breather in our day to refocus ourselves upon the one who gives us long days to live.
