6 For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with,[a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin— (Romans 6:6 NIV)

No longer slaves to sin. How wonderful that sounds but how difficult it seems to overcome. We are given power over our sinful nature through Christ, but the world ever beckons us toward its compromise.

However, Christ broke the power of sin over us if we will but turn to the Spirit within when the world beckons.

We do not have the power ourselves, but we do through Christ.
