Many times we lament unanswered prayers. However, God will always answer, it just may not be in the way we expect. To be truthful that is probably for the best.

We are fickle and broken creatures. We do not always know what is best for us and thus we do not pray in the right way. We pray for the outcome that seems best to us in our finite wisdom and visibility.

God, on the other hand, works without timelines and with ultimate knowledge of what is truly best for us. Even if that means some level of suffering first.
