32 Teach me what I cannot see;
if I have done wrong, I won’t do it again.” (Job 34:32 CSB)
I wish I could say this were true for my life, learning from doing wrong. However, I know that I have done wrong things over and over again.
I would like to say that it was because I was blind to my sins, but I am not. God, the scriptures and my own conscience says I see clearly enough.
What a broken man I am!
But the majority of us suffer from this condition I am afraid to lesser or greater measure. In fact we tend to enjoy our blindness to those things in life that have become part of our nature.
The question we must ask is why are we not learning. Job said “if I have done wrong, I won’t do it again.” So why is it that we sit and wallow in our wrongdoing?
It is only because we have become comfortable in it. It has become habitual and is something now that must be broken and replaced by better habits.
The enemy and the world would love nothing more than for us to become comfortable with wrong.
