8 The Lord is the one who will go before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or abandon you. Do not be afraid or discouraged.” (Deuteronomy 31:8 CSB)

When we go somewhere where we have no idea we, typically, employee some type of guide. Someone or some thing to “go before” us. Someone or some thing to be our guide.

Without this we can flounder and lose our way. We wander aimlessly until we find something familiar or we ask for direction.

Luckily, in our spiritual life we do not have to wander aimlessly. We have a God that goes before us, who will not abandon us and who will ever lead us.
