37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ (Matthew 22:37-39 NIV)
We live in a world where personal slights, general unfairness and out right wrongs are committed continually. Not to paint too bleak of a picture, but we live…in a fallen world. This will not change until Christ returns.
Loving others when we feel that we may be continually being slighted in one way or another can be difficult. Following the Spirit within instead of the old sinful man we are trying to do away with requires supreme effort and control.
Loving the Lord can feel easy, but loving our neighbor …. well that may require complete and total reliance upon the Spirit.
