11 so that we may not be taken advantage of by Satan. For we are not ignorant (or unaware from other translations) of his schemes.

I really do not like the word ignorant. It just has such harsh connotation. However, other translations use the word “unaware” which I think fits the concept of our scripture today very well.

I encounter many who seem blithely unaware of Satan’s schemes. They are professing Christians but seem unaware of HOW they live their lives says they are anything but. They seem unaware that the dichotomy of what they say and how they live reflects on how others perceive Christians

Being unaware, in my mind, is one of the deadliest things we can be. Not only do we hurt our testimony but we are also being used by Satan as a pawn.

Lord may I never find myself as Satan’s pawn. May I ever be mindful and aware of what I do and how I am perceived.
