22 Flee from youthful passions, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. (2 Timothy 2:22 CSB)

There are many things that draw us away from a spiritual life. This is especially true when we are young. But it can often happen when we have lead a successful life and have the time and funds to do anything we want.

There are too many fun things to do even if they may be a bit outside a righteous life.

But these passions that draw us away can often also draw us down. A pure heart becomes burdened with grief and guilt. We find ourselves further and further from home.

Pursuing righteousness, faith, love and peace should lighten our hearts and our minds. Even if this pursuit is simply a desire to live a good life they should be pursued over our youthful passions. These two seem to battle for us day and night, and rightly so. As here on earth there is a battle waged in heavenly realms for our souls.

Our pursuits are a hallmark to our lives.
