Call to Endurance

12 Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every hindrance and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, (Hebrews 12:1 CSB)

A good friend use to say, “everyone and everything, for a season, a reason or a lifetime”.

People and situations come into our lives for one of these three reasons. It may be simply for a season, a period of time where we need something more. It may be for a reason, so that we learn and grow. Or it may be for a lifetime that we are blessed with something totally new or given the opportunity to adapt and overcome so that all will see God through us.

We want these things to be good things so we feel blessed. But even if they are not we are called to endure. And in this endurance we are called to learn and grow, to allow the teacher to teach so that we become something more than we are today.
