27 and do not give the devil a foothold. (Ephesians 4:27 NIV)

As we circumnavigate this thing we call life we need to find footholds that allow us to gain ground. By this I mean that we gain knowledge, we leverage the wisdom of scripture, we improve in various ways in life that allows us to get a bit firmer footing as we go along. Otherwise, life can feel like a slippery slope.

Furthermore, we must lay hold of those biblical truths that allow us to discern good from evil. If not we soon find that our enemy has gained a foothold in our lives. He will worm his way into our lives in any way he can and before long we find he has  created a strong hold within us.

But Christ overcame this world and the evil within, even death. So He through the Spirit has the power to break strong holds in our lives.

Gain a biblical foothold so that you may be able to, through Christ, break the strong holds.
