15 The Lord God took the man and placed him in the garden of Eden to work it and watch over it. (Genesis 2:15 CSB)
We are all given work to do. We may simply do a job or we may be fully engaged in our careers. In either case we take on task and produce for those we work for. In this we should strive to find joy in what we do and favor with those we do it for.
But whether or not we have jobs, task find their way in to our lives. No day should be totally idle. Yes, we may enjoy some down time, but for the most part life is about striving forward.
Much has been written about different work ethics between the generations. Many factors drive these changes in how we do our work. Some are social factors, some economic and some based upon the growth in technology.
It seems that each generation has some reason to look down upon the next in how they do their work.
But one thing never changes – our needed toil for God. We each have but one task at hand for God; to tell others about his surpassing grace and mercy and his plan for us.
