18 An unfriendly person pursues selfish ends
and against all sound judgment starts quarrels. (Proverbs 18:1 CSB)

We have encountered those who just seem to hate the world and everyone in it. Those who stir up trouble and just, in general, are contrary.

There is little time for such. The world is a great big place from which we can choose to surround ourselves with positive influences.

But let us not forget, that the bitter person needs encouragement and prayer too. It may be easy to turn away from such people, but it could be that they are reaching out in need.

While we should seek encouraging people to engage with, we must be open to those in need. We often know little about others situations or the environment that may have shaped their bitterness.

See them for what they are, but provide encouragement even to the unfriendly. Strive to see the best in everyone.
