12 Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every hindrance and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, (Hebrews 12:1 CSB)

Life is hard. It has all form of hindrance and sin. It wears on our endurance day in and day out.

It is easy to allow difficulty and stress defeat us.

I have been struggling this week with all of the above. I suspect many of you are. So today I prayed a prayer of endurance. I cannot stand on my own. I need the Spirit to help me through and the great cloud of witnesses surrounding me to lift me up.

It was a call to endurance.

One I prayed fervently for today. I may be assailed on all sides. The enemy may have all of his host against me. The battle around me rages even now, and while I cannot see it, I hear the distant ring of steel on steel as the heavenly host fights for me.

My call is to endure while the battle rages.
