29 But if he remains silent, who can condemn him? If he hides his face, who can see him? Yet he is over individual and nation alike, (Job 34:29 NIV)
We may ask, “Where was God…” when we individually or as a people are in distress. But maybe the better question is, “Where were we?”
God is not a genie in a bottle to be called upon when we want our desires met. We must already be calling upon him and acting with a God like interest in ourselves, others and the world around us.
Is it any wonder that He may seem absent when it is truly often we who are absent.
