1 Do not be agitated by evildoers;
do not envy those who do wrong.
2 For they wither quickly like grass
and wilt like tender green plants.
3 Trust in the Lord and do what is good;
dwell in the land and live securely. (Psalm 37:1-3 CSB)
In our world that rewards bad behavior it can be easy to get agitated (some translations say “fret”) over their actions. Furthermore, when it seems like those people are the ones who profit it is easy to forget how quickly they fade from the public eye.
If you just do you, and have God helping you in that task, life is much easier. We stop the comparisons that are of no profit.
When we look to those who do wrong and feel like we are getting a bad shake our mind is not in the right place. It is not with God who gives us all.
