Calling

4 As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. 2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. (Ephesians 4:1-3 NIV)

In this (happy) New Year, I would ask you to reflect today on your calling. We all have a calling in this life, possibly multiple callings. Possibly different callings for different seasons of our life.

Many people work through life thinking only of their responsibilities. Never giving thought to what they were truly called to do. This is not just a spiritual endeavor, but one where we may have professional, vocational and relational callings. Each with its own unique needs and outcomes.

But rest assured, you are not here by accident with no purpose but to live and die.

Furthermore, when we understand our calling and pursue it completely with humility, gentleness, patience and love life just…clicks into place like it was always meant to be.
