{"id":4012,"date":"2021-04-16T11:49:19","date_gmt":"2021-04-16T11:49:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/xplorechrist.com\/?p=4012"},"modified":"2021-04-16T11:49:19","modified_gmt":"2021-04-16T11:49:19","slug":"thwarted","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/xplorechrist.com\/?p=4012","title":{"rendered":"Thwarted"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><sup>28\u00a0<\/sup>We know that all things work together<sup>[<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Romans+8%3A28&amp;version=CSB#fen-CSB-28129a\">a<\/a>]<\/sup>\u00a0for the good<sup>[<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Romans+8%3A28&amp;version=CSB#fen-CSB-28129b\">b<\/a>]<\/sup>\u00a0of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28 CSB)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a well worn piece of scripture. It can give us comfort in difficult times and provide a comfort in God\u2019s long term plan for our lives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But how much do we thwart His plan for good in our life by our own actions. Not that we can, in any way, change God\u2019s course. But because He gives us free will we can make a choice to take a different direction. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So it is truly we who we are thwarted. We become our own opposition. The online dictionary defines thwarted in this way; \u201cprevent (someone) from accomplishing something. Oppose (a plan, attempt, or ambition) successfully.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thus it is we who thwart ourselves most often when it comes to Go\u2019s plan and ambition for our lives.
