10 Bring the full tenth into the storehouse so that there may be food in my house. Test me in this way,” says the Lord of Armies. “See if I will not open the floodgates of heaven and pour out a blessing for you without measure. (Malachi 3:10 CSB)
When we tithe with a cheerful heart God is good to bless our giving. Many may argue that they do not know what is being done with their money. However, it is not our money. It is God’s and once it leaves my hand I expect He is big enough to do what He will with it.
But what is the full measure?
While this scripture was talking about a tenth of the harvest what would that equate to in my life? Yes that is a measure of my financial state. But too, it is a measure of how I use my time and my talents as well and a tenth seems like a very paltry amount.
However, there are times when I can barely scrabble together a tenth. Be that time, talents or my treasure and I think God is wanting more than just a measure of our salaries.
He gave each of us spiritual gifts that we should be using every day to further the kingdom. Have you taken a measure lately of what your full measure is?
