6 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, 7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. (Colossians 2:7 NIV)

When something is rooted it has a firm foundation. With our faith, being rooted means that we acquire an inner strength through our faith. From this we can be thankful in all situations because we know that we are in God’s hand.

This is not always easy. Fear and anxiety creep in and undermine our faith and our confidence. This is the human condition. We do not stand upon our faith and so we are easily blown about because we are not well rooted.

Prayer, scripture and Godly counsel helps us gain perspective even in the most difficult of times.
