Wasn’t Me

12 The man said, “The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.” (Genesis 3:12 NIV)

Wasn’t me is a game we play in life. It’s called passing the buck or casting blame. As children we think it will get us out of being disciplined. As adults we tend to use it to buy us time to make up some better reason or “adjust” the situation.

The distinction may be different but the effect is the same. We are not being accountable for our actions. This rarely works out and often causes us an even bigger reputational hit.

God knows right of the bat who holds responsibility. There is no getting around His view into our lives. Luckily He provides forgiveness through Christ and looks for repentance and change on our part.
