The old saying goes “We were given two ears and one mouth so that we might hear twice as much as we speak.”
This is very true. When we practice active listening we can discern not only the message being received but underlying currents in the conversation. Often times, these are more valuable than the message itself.
If we are continually needing to talk, imagine how much we are missing.
