Not Our Own

Lord, I know that people’s lives are not their own;
it is not for them to direct their steps. (Jeremiah 10:23 NIV)

We want to feel in control, but in reality, control is a very tenuous thing. There are far too many factors that can influence our feelings of and the actuality of just how much control we have over our lives.

We can control ourselves, and by this influence in great measure our lives.

Thus, how we react to the world and how we manage ourselves is our greatest measure of control over our lives. The rest is simply faith, unless our faith is placed in one above us. Then our steps are guided.
