For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. (Hebrews 4:15 NIV)
Empathy for others comes from love and gives birth to compassion. When we can empathize with another, we feel their needs more deeply and our touch is gentle and caring.
At times empathy is simply understanding. It accepts where another is and seeks to understand the differences between us.
Empathy breads great strength while accepting great weakness.
